Acrylic Foam Tapes

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes and Acrylic Plus Tapes are go-to solutions for automotive sealing. Conformable, viscoelastic foam cores provide stress relaxation under high application loads, and under normal conditions maintain tight bond lines. These tapes have been developed specifically for attaching exterior trim and other parts to automotive paint surfaces.

3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5344, Gray, 1.14 mm
Great for sensor attachment, as well as attaching roof ditch and body side moldings, wheel flares and appliques, 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tape 5344 is a 1.14 mm tape that provides a balance of strength and conformability. It has two different adhesives. The liner-side adhesive is formulated for bonding to automotive paint surfaces, and the non-liner-side adhesive bonds to exterior trim parts.

3M™ Acrylic Plus Tape PT1100, Dark Gray, 1.14 mm
3M™ Acrylic Plus Tape PT1100 is developed specifically for attaching brackets and other rigid exterior parts to automotive substrates. It features a 1.14 mm acrylic foam core with a different adhesive on each side. The liner-side adhesive is formulated for very high initial and final adhesion to glass, as well as scratch- and mar-resistant paint systems. The non-liner-side adhesive is excellent for bonding to automotive trim and other components.

3M™ Acrylic Plus Tape EX4311
This high-performance 1.14 mm tape is formulated for bonding to advanced clear coat systems including carbamates. The liner-side adhesive is formulated for bonding to the most advanced low surface energy (LSE) automotive clear coats, including those comprised of epoxy/acid powder, 2K urethane, acrylosilane and carbamate. This adhesive is also excellent for existing medium surface energy (MSE) paint systems. The non-liner-side adhesive is formulated for high initial adhesion to a variety of automotive substrates and coatings.

Paint Protection Films

3M engineered films and tapes do more than just protect aesthetics. They’re also an ideal solution for sealing holes, seams and many gaps around joints and fasteners, which helps prevent vibration and unwanted noise. These products are simple to incorporate into nearly any OEM process. Extremely durable protective films are available in die-cut parts with or without premask. They are flexible and conformable for use even on complex automotive parts. These films feature a 2 mil pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, which does not require curing.

3M™ Paint Protection Film 8591, 14 mil, Transparent

This 12 mil polyurethane film, without a clear coat, is especially suitable for metal separators, hose wraps and as a body hole filler. It is die-cuttable and is available pre-cut or premasked for efficiency.
